1. About Calibre

Calibre CV ("Calibre", "we", "us", "our") is an application and exam preparation platform accessible at calibrecv.co.uk, operated by an individual based in the United Kingdom. It provides AI-generated CV analysis benchmarked against specific target institutions and employers, practice and timed mock assessments (critical thinking, situational judgement, and work simulations), and SQE1 exam preparation.

2. Acceptance of terms

By using Calibre, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may update these terms at any time, and continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or purchase a subscription.

3. The service

Calibre currently offers three tiers:

• Free: an overall score with a category breakdown, up to 3 issues identified without fixes, every target, and free assessment practice with instant explanations. Free accounts are limited to 3 analyses per day
• Premium: the full section-by-section breakdown, bullet rewrites, insider notes, a tailored cover letter, a downloadable report, score history, and full timed mock assessments and marked work simulations. Premium has no daily analysis limit, subject to the acceptable use and suspension sections below
• Calibre Plus: everything in Premium, plus SQE1 exam preparation including our original question bank, worked explanations, revision flashcards, and timed mock exams

Analysis and feedback are generated by AI and are intended as guidance only. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, including but not limited to job offers, interview invitations, or admission to any institution.

Calibre is not a law firm, recruiter, careers adviser, or education provider, and nothing on the service is legal or professional advice. Our SQE1 materials are independent preparation resources written to test the published assessment specification and syllabus. They are not produced, endorsed, or approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, are not the SRA's own sample questions, are not taken from any publisher's materials, and we do not guarantee any exam result.

Features described as planned or forthcoming are stated in good faith but are not contractual commitments, and timings may change. We may add, change, or discontinue features over time. If we discontinue a paid feature materially and you are a current subscriber, you may cancel and we will refund any unused portion of the period you have paid for.

4. No guarantee of results

Calibre provides feedback based on publicly available information about how institutions and employers evaluate candidates. We make no representation that following our suggestions will result in a successful application. Hiring and admissions decisions involve many factors outside our knowledge or control.

5. Your content

You retain full ownership of any CV or document you upload. By uploading, you grant us a temporary, limited licence to process your document solely for the purpose of generating your analysis. Your CV file is deleted from our servers immediately after the analysis completes. We do not store the document or its text, and we never sell or share it.

We do retain a one-way cryptographic fingerprint of the uploaded file together with the resulting analysis, so that submitting a byte-for-byte identical file again returns the same result without re-processing it. The same fingerprint is kept with your score history and lets us tell one CV being reworked repeatedly apart from an account being shared or used to check other people's CVs, which section 6 does not permit. The fingerprint cannot be reversed to reconstruct your CV, and any change to the file produces a different fingerprint. This is described in full in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload does not infringe third-party rights and is accurate.

6. Our content

All content we provide (including the target scoring criteria, our SQE1 question bank and explanations, assessment and mock test questions, work simulations, articles, and the design and code of the site) is our intellectual property or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright.

Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use this content for your own preparation. You may not copy, republish, redistribute, sell, share your account access, or use our content to build or train a competing product or dataset.

7. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

Premium access is billed at £8 per month. Calibre Plus is billed at £16.99 per month and includes everything in Premium. Payment is processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled.

We may offer a discounted introductory price to a limited number of new subscribers for a limited time. Unless stated otherwise at signup, this applies to your first billing cycle only, and your subscription renews at the standard price from the next cycle onward.

• You may cancel at any time through Stripe's customer portal
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then
• Outside the statutory cancellation right described below, we do not refund partial months
• We may change pricing with reasonable notice. Any change takes effect from your next billing cycle, never mid-cycle

Your statutory cancellation right. As a consumer in the UK you normally have 14 days from the start of a subscription to cancel for a refund, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Because Calibre gives you immediate access to digital content, by subscribing you request that we begin supplying it immediately and acknowledge that you lose that 14-day right once supply has begun. If you have subscribed but not yet used the paid features, contact us within 14 days and we will refund you.

None of these terms affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service
• Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes third-party rights
• Upload a CV or document that is not yours without the permission of the person it belongs to
• Use the service to generate content for commercial resale without our permission
• Circumvent any usage limits or access controls
• Use scripts, bots, or other automated means to submit analyses, including on plans marketed as unlimited
• Share, sell, or transfer your account or its access to anyone else

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Calibre if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, including through automated, bot-driven, or otherwise abnormal usage that is inconsistent with genuine individual use, even where your plan has no stated daily limit. We may temporarily restrict an account while we investigate unusual activity, before deciding whether to restore access or terminate the account. A temporary restriction is not a termination, and we will lift it if the activity turns out to be ordinary use.

We monitor the volume of analyses run on each account. Where usage substantially exceeds what we reasonably consider normal individual use, an account may be automatically restricted or suspended. If that happens we will email the address on your account explaining the reason and how to request a review, and if you believe the decision is wrong you can contact us and we will review it.

Separately from the above, and as a normal part of how the product works, on plans with no daily analysis limit we may ask you to wait a short time before re-running an analysis that has already returned the same result several times over. This is not a limit on how many analyses you may run. It exists because repeating an unchanged analysis cannot tell you anything new, and the wait applies only to that target and clears as soon as your result changes.

Where an account is suspended or terminated because of a breach of these terms, we are not required to provide a refund for the affected period, except where a refund is required by applicable law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Calibre shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
